Now we are the corner of Cleveland and South Dowling Streets, where this humble post is overlooked, probably, by most passers-by. At one time it marked the boundary of Sydney. The date on it is 1842.
Just across South Dowling Street in the corner of Moore Park is another monument.
The Moore Park Cricket Association Memorial Drinking Fountain has recently been restored.
“For God, King and Country”
THIS FOUNTAIN WAS ERECTED BY THE MEMBERS OF
THE MOORE PARK CRICKET ASSOCIATION IN COMMEMORATION
OF THEIR COMRADES WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 1918
